A First Ride on the 360 Max Streetboard

I've been skateboarding for over thirty years. I've ridden old-school pool boards, downhill longboards, slalom setups, street decks, surf skates, mountain boards, and just about every “revolutionary” thing the industry has thrown at us. Most of them were either a slight improvement, a different flavor of the same experience, or a gimmick that disappeared as quickly as it arrived.

The 360 Max is different.

The first time I stepped on it, my brain immediately told me something was wrong. Not broken wrong. Impossible wrong.

Every skateboard you've ever ridden teaches you one thing from the moment you start: the wheels determine where the board goes. Turn the trucks, and the board follows. Traditional skateboards are directional. The 360 Max feels dimensional. You stop attacking corners and start carving shapes. You stop correcting and start flowing. It is a lot like wakeboarding but no tow required — momentum and gravity take over. You stop thinking about where the board is pointed and start thinking about where you want to go. For snowboarders, that's the magic.

Every winter, riders spend thousands of dollars chasing that feeling of freedom. Then spring arrives, the snow melts, and the boards get hung in garages until the next season.

The 360 Max feels like someone looked at that problem and asked a simple question: “What if the snow wasn't necessary?”

The result is a board that captures many of the sensations snowboarders love — carving, drifting, rotating, flowing — and brings them to pavement.

This isn't a replacement for skateboarding. It's a new branch on the family tree. The same way snowboarding evolved from skiing. The same way surfing inspired skateboarding. The same way longboarding evolved from traditional street skating. The 360 Max isn't trying to be a better skateboard.

And after spending time on it, I think that's exactly what it has done. The most exciting thing about the 360 Max isn't what it is today. It's what riders will do with it tomorrow.

Every action sport begins with someone creating a new tool. Then a generation of riders discovers possibilities the inventors never imagined.

That's where the 360 Max feels right now. At the beginning. The tricks haven't been invented yet. The riding styles haven't been defined. The rulebook doesn't exist. And honestly, that's the most exciting place any sport can be.

For the first time in a very long time, I stepped onto a board and felt like a beginner again. Not because I couldn't ride it. Because it showed me there was a new way to move. And that's a rare thing. The 360 Max doesn't just challenge how a skateboard works. It challenges what a skateboard can become.
