The Fire Ring

 

Human beings have always
gathered around fires.

One would tell a story.

Not to win.
Not to convince.

Simply hoping
that somewhere,
someday,
someone
might hear something
that helped them
understand
their own life.

The fire has changed.
The stories haven't.

Perhaps that has always been enough.
